Services Performed
- Scanned all control modules for relevant faults. Found P0496, "EVAP system flow during non purge", P0521, P0522, & P0523 for engine oil pressure sensor fault. Observed scan data for engine oil pressure, found it reading 127 psi (very unlikely) , indicating open circuit. Inspected oil pressure sensor, found it leaking into harness connector and contaminating wiring harness. Will require replacement of engine oil pressure sensor and connector. Observed scan data for fuel tank pressure, found slight vacuum; removed fuel cap, verified pressure decrease and noted purging occurring. Disconnected purge solenoid from fuel tank line and electrical connector. Started engine and verified vacuum present through (supposedly closed) purge solenoid. Purge solenoid replacement required. replaced purge solnoid and oil pressure sensor and connector and clear codes and road test
- Test drove to verify concern. Returned to shop and inspected; found recently installed aftermarket wheels do NOT have hub centric rings installed, causing wheel to center on lug studs rather than bearing hub. Will require installation of hub centric rings, tire balance, and vehicle alignment.
- Inspected; adjusted pressure line routing to alleviate rubbing condition. Noted missing bolt from power steering pump bracket to cylinder head. Vehicle is NOT equipped with a power steering pressure switch. Power steering variable assist solenoid appears to be leak free and functioning properly. Sourced and installed replacement bolt.
- Used stethoscope to listen to timing chain cover when starting engine "cold"; noted slight noise from chain until oil pressure built up. Timing chain replacement with all associated guides and tensioners required to remedy concern. Could not verify concern on 2nd day attempt. front cover and valve cover leaking oil
- TEST DRIVE VEHICLE IN MANNER TO FORCE DRIVE CYCLE TO RUN
