Services Performed
- Scanned all control modules for relevant faults. Found P0442, "Evaporative system small leak," stored in engine controller. Hoisted vehicle and performed visual inspection- no obvious faults found. Removed EVAP purge solenoid from engine and performed functional testing- OK. Attached low pressure smoke test apparatus to tank purge line and introduced smoke to EVAP system while closing canister vent solenoid with scan tool. Inspected all fuel lines, gas cap, vapor canister, and tank for 30+ minutes. no leak noted. Cycled tank vent solenoid several times with scan tool, and intermittently, vent solenoid would fail to seal tank. Replaced purge solenoid AND vent solenoid, as both parts are known to commonly have intermittent failures. Performed on-board EVAP monitor test with passing results.
