Confirmed that intermittently the key does not come out of the ignition. Found a Technical Service Bulletin that describes this issue and how to repair issue. Confirmed that this issue falls within TSB requirements and replaced shifter plate in accordance with TSB. Rechecked shifter and key operation and now key is able to be removed. Complete

Scanned all control modules for relevant faults. Found P0730, "Gearshift control performance abnormal" stored in transmission control module. Test drove vehicle numerous times to verify concern. For a very short time during one drive cycle, car lurched upon acceleration, numerous malfunction indicators illuminated, and condition cleared within 2-3 seconds. Checked CVT fluid level and condition; OK. Performed functional testing of transmission including evaluation of all mechanical shifting points. No mechanical faults noted. Replaced "self shut" relay as precautionary measure. While inspecting underhood ground locations, noted battery hold-down was askew, and touching positive terminal. Removed battery for further inspection; found signs of arcing between battery hold-down and positive terminal, at battery hold down to 'J' bolt, and at 'J' bolt to body location. Bracket for 'J' bolt welded to body was melted through. Installed replacement bracket and properly installed battery and hold-down components.
