- Scanned all control modules for relevant faults- found P2004, Swirl Flap fault stored in powertrain controller. Visually inspected intake manifold, control motor, and position sensor for obvious faults or loose connections- none found. Commanded swirl flap motor open and closed numerous times while monitoring position sensor to evaluate system performance- flaps opened and closed as expected every time. This application is known for intermittently sticking tumble flap mechanisms, and intake manifold has been re-designed to eliminate failures. Recommend replacement of intake manifold and associated parts at this time. Customer declined further repairs.
